Services

Staff a role, test a fit, or hire outright.

Four engagement models, one intake process. We'll tell you which one fits the work — including when the answer is "you don't need us for this."

Model 01

Contract staffing

Engage a specialist for a defined project, a seasonal peak, a migration, a backfill, or any scope with an end in sight. The consultant works under your direction on your schedule; the employment relationship stays with Kalspark.

What we handle

  • W2 employment and payroll
  • Benefits eligibility
  • Workers' compensation
  • Background and drug screening to your policy
  • Onboarding paperwork
  • Timesheet collection and approval routing
  • Consolidated invoicing

Good fit when: the work has a horizon, headcount is frozen but budget isn't, or you need a skill you won't need permanently.

Model 02

Contract-to-hire

The consultant starts on our W2 for an agreed period, then converts to your payroll if both sides want to continue. You evaluate real work instead of interview performance; the candidate evaluates your team the same way.

What we handle

Everything in contract staffing, plus a defined conversion term and fee agreed up front — no surprise buyout at the end.

Good fit when: the role is permanent but the profile is hard to assess in interviews, or a new function is still taking shape.

Model 03

Direct hire

Full-cycle permanent recruiting. We take the intake, run the search, screen and present, coordinate the process, and manage the offer stage through to start date.

Fees are contingent on a successful placement unless we agree otherwise, and every direct-hire placement carries a replacement guarantee period defined in the agreement.

What we handle

  • Market and compensation input during intake
  • Sourcing and outreach
  • Technical and behavioral screening
  • Interview scheduling and feedback loops
  • Reference checks on request
  • Offer negotiation
  • Resignation and counteroffer coaching
  • Start-date follow-up

Good fit when: the role is core to the team and you want it filled once, correctly.

Model 04

Managed / project teams

When the requirement is a team rather than a person, we staff the whole shape of it — engineers, data, QA, support, delivery — with one point of contact, coordinated onboarding, and aligned start dates.

What we handle

  • Role-by-role intake and sequencing
  • Staggered or simultaneous starts
  • A single account contact for all consultants
  • Consolidated invoicing and timesheet administration
  • Ramp-down or extension planning as the project moves

Good fit when: a program is starting, a delivery date is fixed, or you'd rather manage one relationship than five.

How engagements are structured

Terms that don't need a decoder ring.

Employment types

Contract consultants are employed on Kalspark's W2 by default. We also support 1099 independent contractors and corp-to-corp (C2C) arrangements with incorporated consultants and their firms, where the client agreement and the consultant's work authorization allow it.

Rates and fees

Contract engagements are billed at an agreed hourly bill rate. Direct-hire placements are billed as a one-time fee tied to the accepted offer. Contract-to-hire combines an hourly rate with a defined conversion term. All of it is written into the agreement before we start recruiting — we don't quote a rate one way and invoice another.

Work authorization

We verify authorization for every candidate we present and complete Form I-9 and E-Verify processing as applicable for consultants we employ. We work with US citizens, permanent residents, and candidates holding valid work authorization, and we'll tell you plainly what a given candidate's status is.

Locations and compliance

Onsite, hybrid, or fully remote. We're headquartered in Plano, Texas and recruit nationally. Kalspark is an equal opportunity employer — employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic under federal, state, or local law.

Industries served

Where our placements typically sit.

We staff technology roles, and technology roles live everywhere. The environments we're most often asked to recruit into:

Financial services & insurance

Core platform work, data and reporting, regulatory-driven projects, security and access management.

Healthcare & life sciences

Clinical and enterprise application support, integration work, data pipelines, validated and regulated environments.

Retail & e-commerce

Commerce platforms, order and inventory systems, analytics, seasonal capacity.

Manufacturing, logistics & energy

ERP programs, OT/IT integration, field and plant systems support, infrastructure modernization.

Telecommunications & technology

Product engineering, cloud and platform teams, QA and release engineering.

Public sector & education

Enterprise systems, service desk, security and compliance roles.

If your industry isn't listed, ask. The determining factor is usually the role and the environment, not the vertical.

Not sure which model fits?

Describe the work and the constraints. We'll tell you whether it's a contract, a conversion, a permanent search, or a team — and we'll say so if it's none of them.
